  • My latest musings in @huffpost today.... This is about embracing authenticity and loving ourselves just as we are. I'd love to hear your thoughts. Have you had occasion to learn a similar lesson? Happy Friday! LINK IN BIO πŸ”—

EDITED TO ADD: I’ve received hundreds of DMs, emails, comments, etc, from people wanting to know the name of the company that did my AI photos. I won’t be responding, so please don’t reach out with this question. Thank you πŸ™

  • Yesterday I was going pee and my son was sitting on my lap (because: #momlife), and we had a little conversation that stuck with me...✨
.
Me: How much do I love you today?
.
Finn: Smiling and flashing his 10 fingers over and over again to show how much.
.
Me: More.
.
Finn: Even more??
.
Me: You’ll have to keep going all day and all night and forever to get to how much I love you.
.
Finn: But then we’ll die.
.
Me: Well, yes, everyone will die eventually.
.
Finn: But I’ll miss you.
.
Me: Oh, honey, that’s not gonna happen for a very very very long time.
.
Finn: (turning to nuzzle his face into mine) I like that. ❀
.
What has your kiddo said to you lately that turned your heart to mush?

  • The very first Midlife Mamas Growth Circle kicked off today! It's so exciting to see all of our hard work developing a month's worth of fun, family-focused content finally come to fruition as we met our first cohort this morning. πŸ₯°
.
This month's Growth Circle topic is "Everyday Adventures" and today's adventure prompt reads "Go for a nature walk and collect a rainbow!" 🌈
.
The idea is to go outdoors and look for colors, then assemble any items of your choosing (leaves, petals, etc) into a "rainbow," take a pic, and share it inside our Growth Circle FB group. 🍁
.
We decided to head to the beach! I was skeptical that we'd find much color there on this gray Seattle day but boy was I wrong. Our beaches here in the PNW are covered in multi-colored rocks. The perfect place to collect a rainbow. 😊
.
Did you find time for any adventures today? If you're interested in joining our March Growth Circle and having daily adventures with a group of lovely Midlife Mamas, I decided to extend the signup deadline by one day, so you can still join us if you register by 12pm on Thursday, March 2. All the details are at the link in my bio.
  • My new Midlife Mama growth circles kick off this week with the launch of Everyday Adventures, 31 days of learning, connecting, and growing with a vibrant group of older moms.
✨
We'll venture to adventure in small ways every single day of the month, sharing our stories inside a private community and holding each other adventure-accountable!
✨
With daily adventure prompts and resources, weekly events featuring an array of inspiring special guests, live chats and other community building activities, there will be plenty to do but without any pressure.
✨
To join the growth circle and get started on your own Everyday Adventures in March, click the link in my bio. Signup deadline is tomorrow, 2/28, at noon PST. Hope to adventure with you! ❀️
  • Hello! I'm Natasha. I'm (with any luck!) smack dab in the middle of my life at 51 years old. I'm also mom to Finn, my one and only who surprised me and his papa when I was 46. Like so many other later-in-life moms who didn't plan for THAT to happen, when the pregnancy symptoms first appeared, I thought it was menopause. Umm, nope!
.
Anywhoozles, there are quite a few new faces around here so I thought I'd take a minute to share my story. I grew up in moist and mossy Washington State, where the outdoors and the arts became the backdrop for my childhood. Not surprisingly, I've always been a creator and also an adventurer. Professionally, I'm a writer and designer and crafter of conversations who worked in PR and marketing for years and ultimately founded my own communications agency to help mission-driven organizations tell their stories.
.
All of those elements of my background seemed to converge and also reshape themselves when I found myself a first time mother at midlife. I hadn't planned to have kids, having been diagnosed very young with PCOS and related infertility. But my body (perhaps dusted with a sprinkle of destiny?) had its own plans.
.
Since then, it's seemed that all of the skills I developed in life before motherhood-- from outdoor adventure expertise to strategic storytelling--have reshuffled and redirected themselves to focus on building community for other older moms and on helping other midlife women rewrite their own stories to be more authentic and self-actualized as they enter their second chapters.
.
I created the Midlife Mamas Community in 2018 because I was the only older mom I knew and I wanted some new friends! Now it's grown to more than 1,400 members across the US and around the world. I'm so proud of our warm little community and how we support one another. Join us at the LINK IN MY BIO.
